When cloud mode is appropriate
Choose cloud AI when you want the product’s cloud high-quality models, including optional cloud AI editing, and you understand that image data leaves this computer. Cloud mode is selected inside the same desktop workspace as local work; it is not a separate website uploader.
- You want to use the product's cloud high-quality models.
- You need optional cloud AI editing.
- You understand that image data is sent to the cloud service for this workflow.
How this differs from local work
The local engine needs no product sign-in and is unlocked by a one-time license. Cloud translation is billed in points. Enabling DeepL or Google is a separate, user-configured API path and sends text to that provider.
| Local engine | Cloud AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Not required | Required |
| Billing | One-time license, unlimited local jobs | Points per image |
| Data | OCR and translation on this device | Images sent to the product cloud service |
| Inputs | JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and other desktop formats | JPG, PNG, WebP |
Supported cloud input and packaging text
The cloud image-translation workflow accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP images. It includes an option to avoid translating packaging text when that is needed for a product image — for example when brand marks on a pack should remain in the source language while other on-image copy is localized.
After a cloud job
Open results in the editor when layout or wording still needs a change. Cloud AI editing, if you use it, also requires sign-in and points. Export finished files as PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
